Growing older does not mean losing strength, mobility, balance, or independence has to be accepted as inevitable.
With the right movement, the body can remain strong, mobile, and capable for much longer. Chair Pilates offers a safe, gentle, and highly effective way to support this.
Chair Pilates is a low-impact form of exercise designed to improve strength, posture, mobility, balance, and overall wellbeing, all from the comfort and support of a chair.
Sessions are particularly beneficial for older adults, those with reduced mobility, anyone returning to movement after illness or injury, or individuals who may feel more comfortable exercising in a supported and accessible way.
Chair Pilates helps build strength throughout the body, particularly in the core, back, hips, legs, ankles, and feet. Maintaining strength is essential for everyday activities such as walking, standing, sitting, and moving with greater confidence.
Improving strength through the core and lower body helps support balance and coordination, which can reduce the risk of falls and improve confidence in movement.
Many people experience stiffness, rounded shoulders, or discomfort through the back and neck. Chair Pilates encourages better alignment, posture, and spinal mobility, helping the body move more comfortably and efficiently.
Gentle, controlled movement helps keep the joints mobile and supports healthy movement in the hips, knees, shoulders, ankles, and spine.
Regular movement and strength-based exercise play an important role in maintaining muscle mass and supporting bone health as we age.
Mindful breathing and gentle movement can support better circulation, improve oxygen flow, and help the body feel more energised.
Staying strong and mobile helps support confidence and independence in everyday life.
Movement is incredibly powerful for mental health. Chair Pilates can help reduce stress and anxiety, improve mood, support focus, and create a greater sense of wellbeing.
Sessions are designed to be uplifting, encouraging, and enjoyable- bringing movement, positivity, and often plenty of smiles along the way.
