A Day to Nourish the Body, Mind and Soul 🌿
Surrounded by the peace, tranquillity and natural beauty of Sudbury Gas Works, we recently had the pleasure of hosting a very special Wellness Day, bringing together movement, mindfulness, discovery and connection.
Alongside Emma, I welcomed a wonderful group of ladies for a day dedicated to pressing pause on the busyness of everyday life, taking a breath, and reconnecting with ourselves. It was an opportunity to slow down, listen to our bodies, nurture our wellbeing and simply enjoy being present in the moment.
We began our day with a pelvic floor workshop and movement session, exploring the importance of this often-overlooked part of our bodies and discovering how breath, awareness and mindful movement can support us in our everyday lives.
From there, our day unfolded into a beautiful journey of discovery. We challenged ourselves with an invigorating yoga session, found our grounding through the gentle, flowing movements of Qigong, and surrendered to the soothing sounds and vibrations of a relaxing sound bath. Each experience offered something different, inviting us to explore, learn, let go and embrace something new.
There was also time to step outside, breathe in the fresh air and enjoy a peaceful walk through the beautiful local surroundings, allowing nature to work its magic and reminding us of the simple joy of slowing down.
And, of course, no wellness day would be complete without some delicious, homemade food! We enjoyed a hearty lunch of homemade soup and freshly made bread, a lovely cheese board, delicious brownies and fresh fruit. Everything was prepared with so much love and care by my wonderful mum and husband, Charles, for whom I am incredibly grateful.
But beyond the movement, the workshops and the wonderful food, what made this day truly special was the feeling it created. There was friendship, connection, curiosity, courage, laughter and joy. There were moments of stillness, moments of challenge, and moments of simply being together without the usual demands of everyday life.
It was a beautiful reminder that wellbeing is about so much more than exercise. It is about nurturing our physical and emotional health, creating space for ourselves, trying new things, finding balance and recognising the importance of connection, both with ourselves and with others.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and made the day so special.
We left feeling nourished, refreshed and uplifted, carrying a little more calm, a little more confidence and some beautiful memories with us.
Here’s to making more time for ourselves, embracing new experiences and remembering that sometimes the most important thing we can do is simply slow down. 💚
May 9th 2026, Sudbury Gasworks.
Our recent Wellness Day was everything we hoped it would be — a truly restorative, uplifting and nourishing day shared with a wonderful group of people in a beautiful tranquil setting.
Set within the peaceful surroundings of Sudbury Gasworks, the day offered a chance to step away from the busyness of everyday life and fully immerse in calm, connection and wellbeing. It was a day dedicated to movement, mindfulness, rest and restoration — giving everyone the opportunity to slow down, breathe deeply and reconnect with themselves.
We began the morning with an extended Pilates movement session, allowing plenty of time to move with intention and awareness. The session focused on an equal balance of strength and release, with mindful movement designed to build strength while creating space and freedom through the hips and spine. Breathwork and mindfulness were woven throughout, encouraging a deep sense of calm, grounding and connection.
After our morning practice, we enjoyed a gentle walk in the sunshine - a lovely chance to breathe in the fresh air, appreciate the beautiful surroundings and simply enjoy being present.
Lunch was shared outdoors in the sunshine, where we enjoyed a colourful and nourishing spread bursting with goodness. A vibrant rainbow of salads, fresh fruit and delicious sandwiches fuelled us for the afternoon, followed by a beautiful homemade cake lovingly made by Emma — a real treat and enjoyed by all.
The afternoon invited us to challenge both mind and body by trying something new with a Qigong session. This was a wonderfully calming and powerful experience, combining gentle movement, breath and focus to create a deeply connective practice for both body and mind.
To close the day, we were guided into a beautiful sound bath -Â the perfect restorative ending to such a special day. Deeply relaxing and soothing, it offered space to fully unwind, absorb the day and leave feeling calm, centred and renewed.
Everyone left with a small gift and, more importantly, feeling lighter in body, calmer in mind and lifted in spirit.
It was a truly special day filled with warmth, connection and wellbeing, and we feel so grateful to everyone who joined us and made it such a memorable experience.
